Food-Grade Cardboard
Food-grade cardboard meets FDA 21 CFR compliance for direct food contact. The board includes grease-resistant coatings, moisture barriers, and migration-safe inks tested to prevent chemical transfer to food products. Testing covers extractable substances, heavy metal content, and microbiological safety before certification. Food-grade board is mandatory for bakery boxes, takeout containers, frozen food packaging, and any application where the packaging surface touches what people eat. Standard options include polyethylene-coated (PE) board for moisture resistance and fluorochemical-free grease barriers for sustainable food packaging. The coating does not affect printability on the exterior surface.
