Free Pouch Dieline Generator
Make a true-scale artwork template for your pouch in seconds. Pick a stand-up pouch, 3-side seal mylar bag, flat bottom, side gusset or quad seal bag, enter the size, and get a dieline with cut lines, fold lines, seal areas, 3 mm bleed and the safe area for text. Download it as an SVG for Illustrator, or send it straight to a quote.
The template is for planning artwork. The final dieline for your exact bag is confirmed with your quote.
How to read a pouch dieline
- Red cut line: the edge of the finished bag. Artwork runs past it into the bleed.
- Grey seal areas: where the film is heat sealed. Print shows here, but small text and barcodes should stay out.
- Blue fold lines: panel edges and gusset folds. Dotted lines fold inward.
- Green safe area: keep logos, text and barcodes inside it.
- Features: the zipper band, tear notches, hang hole and valve position, so artwork avoids them.

Pouch dieline questions
What is a pouch dieline?
A pouch dieline is the flat artwork template for a bag: the outline of every panel, where the bag is cut, folded and sealed, the bleed around the edge, and the safe area where text and logos stay clear of seals. Designers place artwork on it before the pouch is printed.
How do I make a stand-up pouch dieline?
Choose the stand-up style, enter the finished width, height and bottom gusset depth, and add the zipper, tear notch or hang hole you need. The template shows the front and back panels, the bottom gusset with its fold line, the side seals and the safe area. Download it as an SVG and open it in Illustrator or any vector editor.
How big should the seals be on a pouch?
This template uses common allowances: about 10 mm side and bottom seals on flat and stand-up pouches, 5 mm corner seals on flat bottom and quad seal bags, a 10 mm top seal (more with a hang hole) and 3 mm of bleed. Keep text and logos inside the green safe area.
Where does the zipper go on a pouch?
The zipper sits a short way below the top seal, under the tear notch, so the bag is torn open above it and resealed with it. Keep artwork details out of the zipper band, because the zipper track can distort print across it.
Is the template accurate enough to print from?
It is true-scale and follows standard pouch conventions, so it is good for planning and laying out artwork. Seal widths and feature positions vary by machine, so the final dieline for your exact bag is confirmed with your quote before printing.
Can you print my pouch once the artwork is ready?
Yes. Use the Get this pouch made button to send the style, size and features from the generator, then add your artwork. We make stand-up pouches, mylar bags, flat bottom, side gusset and quad seal bags to order.
