Auto Bottom Tray
An auto bottom tray is a shallow, open-top container with a pre-glued base that pops into a locked position when unfolded. The tray has no lid, making it ideal for products that need to be visible and accessible from above: bakery items on a counter, cosmetics in a retail display, or produce at a farmers market. The auto-lock base provides a rigid platform that distributes weight evenly, which prevents the sagging and collapse issues that manual-fold trays have under load. Tray walls typically stand 1 to 4 inches tall, low enough for customers to reach in but high enough to contain the product securely. Standard construction uses 350-450gsm SBS, kraft, or food-grade cardboard. Grease-resistant and moisture-resistant coatings are available for food applications. Auto bottom trays stack inside each other for efficient shipping and storage. Cubit produces custom auto bottom trays from 100 units.
