Not sure of a detail? Describe the product that goes inside and your rep proposes a specification. The quote prices your quantity plus up to three larger runs.

Run size

What changes as the run gets bigger?

The specification can stay the same while the print method and the setup cost per unit change.

Digital or plate printing

Short runs are usually printed digitally, with no plates. Longer runs of one design are often cheaper on plates. Which one suits depends on the run length and the number of designs.

Cutting dies

Cartons, boxes and shaped labels need a cutting die made to the dieline. A die is a one-time cost, so it weighs more on 5,000 units than on 100,000.

Make-ready

Each press run starts with set-up sheets before the counted units. That cost is roughly fixed, so it adds less per unit as the run grows.

Price per unit

Plates, dies and make-ready spread across more units as quantity rises, so the price per unit falls. That is why the quote prices your quantity plus up to three larger runs.

Delivery choice

Every quote lists Normal, Express and Priority delivery with its turnaround. Goods ship delivered duty paid to your door, so plan storage space for the full run.

Several SKUs in one run

Flavors, strains, shades or sizes that share a format can go on one quote. Every design gets its own proof before printing.

Programs

How does program ordering work for recurring runs?

Many volume buyers run a program: the same packaging reordered on a rhythm, across several SKUs and destinations.

Recurring runs with one rep

The same rep handles your account and every reorder, so you do not brief someone new each time. To reorder, send the new quantity and date. New artwork gets a proof before printing.

Several SKUs on one program

A program can cover a full range of pouches, cartons and labels. Share the yearly volume per SKU and how often you reorder. The quote prices your quantity plus up to three larger runs, so you can compare run sizes.

Packaging for your own clients

Distributors and agencies often order under a client's brand and need goods sent to that client. Give the delivery address on the request. Kitting, co-packing and fulfilment are arranged through partners, not in-house.

How it works

How does a bulk order run, from quote to delivery?

Every volume order follows the same six steps.

  1. 1

    Request a quote

Send the format, your quantity, the in-hands date and the destination through the quote panel. One rep picks it up and owns the account from here, including every reorder.

  2. 2

    Agree the specification

Size, material, print and finish are confirmed in writing. If you are unsure of a detail, describe the product that goes inside and the rep proposes a specification.

  3. 3

Priced at your quantity plus up to three larger runs

The quote prices the quantity you asked for and up to three larger runs beside it. Each run is shown with Normal, Express and Priority delivery and its turnaround, so the whole comparison is on one page.

  4. 4

    Approve the proof

A proof of every design is sent for approval. Nothing is printed until you sign it off.

  5. 5

Production: 7 to 12 business days

Production takes 7 to 12 business days after you approve the proof. Count business days, not calendar days.

  6. 6

Delivered duty paid to your door

Goods ship DDP with the normal or fast delivery option you chose on the quote. Duties are included (delivered duty paid), so there is nothing to settle on arrival.

Before you ask

What should you send for a bulk quote?

  • The format and size, or a photo of packaging you use now
  • Your quantity, plus up to three larger runs to price on the same quote
  • Whether it is a one-time order or a recurring program, and how often you expect to reorder
  • The date you need the goods in hand
  • The destination, or the list of destinations if the run ships to more than one place
  • The number of SKUs or designs, and the quantity of each
  • Artwork or a brief; a proof is approved before anything is printed
FAQ

Bulk packaging questions

What counts as bulk packaging?

Bulk usually means custom printed runs in the thousands of units per design, often with several designs ordered together. There is no fixed industry cut-off. The steps are the same whatever the quantity: quote, proof, production and delivered duty paid shipping.

How long does a bulk order take?

Production takes 7 to 12 business days after you approve the proof. Every quote lists Normal, Express and Priority delivery with its turnaround, so you can plan back from your in-hands date.

Are duties and import fees included?

Yes. Orders ship delivered duty paid (DDP) to your door, so nothing is due on arrival. You choose normal or fast delivery on the quote.

Can I order several SKUs or designs in one bulk run?

Yes. Send the number of designs and the quantity of each. Designs that share a format are quoted together, and each one gets its own proof before printing.

Do you supply private label or OEM packaging for resellers?

Yes. Distributors, promotional-products companies and co-packers order packaging under their own brand or their client's. Kitting, co-packing and fulfilment are arranged through partners, not in-house.

How do reorders work on a recurring program?

One rep handles your account and every reorder. Send the new quantity and in-hands date, and say what changes from the last run. Any new artwork gets a proof before anything is printed.
