The bottom gusset expands when filled, creating a stable base. Stand-up mylar pouches are the most popular format for food, cannabis, and supplement retail packaging.
What sizes are available for stand-up mylar pouches?
Cubit offers stand-up pouches from 1 oz (3.5×5.5 inches) to 48 oz (10×15 inches) and fully custom dimensions. Standard sizes include sample (1-2oz), snack (3-6oz), retail (8-12oz), family (16-24oz), and bulk (32-48oz). Custom sizing is available at no additional cost.
Can stand-up pouches have a clear window?
Yes. We offer die-cut transparent windows in any shape — oval, rectangular, round, or custom contour. Windows are made from clear barrier film that maintains the bag's oxygen and moisture protection while allowing customers to see the product inside.
Are stand-up mylar pouches microwave-safe?
Standard mylar pouches contain aluminum and are NOT microwave-safe. However, we offer retort-grade stand-up pouches made with metallized PET (without aluminum foil) that are microwave-safe and heat-resistant for products requiring sterilization or reheating.
What closure options are available?
Stand-up pouch closure options include press-to-close zipper (most popular), slider zipper, child-resistant pinch-n-slide, tin-tie (for coffee), pour spout with cap, and heat-seal only. Multiple closures can be combined — e.g., tamper-evident heat seal with CR zipper underneath.
Can I add a degassing valve for coffee?
Yes. We install one-way degassing valves for freshly roasted coffee packaging. The valve releases CO₂ from freshly roasted beans while preventing oxygen from entering, extending shelf life and preventing bag bloating.
