Flexible packaging
Printed Rollstock Film
Rollstock is printed, laminated packaging film supplied on a roll instead of as finished bags. Your packing machine forms, fills and seals the film into pouches, sachets, stick packs or flow-wrapped packs. Cubit prints and laminates rollstock to your structure and winds it to your machine’s width, core and roll size.
Also called: roll stock, roll stock film, packaging film rolls, laminated roll film, printed packaging film, form fill seal film, VFFS film, flow wrap film.
- For VFFS, HFFS, flow-wrap, sachet and stick pack machines
- Printed and laminated to your structure
- Wound to your web width, core and roll size
- Barrier, kraft, clear and metallized films

When rollstock beats pre-made bags
Once a product sells in high volumes, filling pre-made bags by hand or on a pouch filler becomes the bottleneck. Form-fill-seal machines make the package from rollstock in one pass, so the cost per pack falls and output rises. Snack, candy, coffee, supplement, powder and frozen food brands, and the co-packers who fill for them, move to rollstock for exactly that reason.
Machines rollstock runs on
We print and wind film for the common machine types:
- Vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS): pillow bags and gusseted bags for snacks, coffee, frozen food and powders.
- Horizontal form-fill-seal and flow-wrap (HFFS): bars, candy, baked goods and single items.
- Sachet machines: 3- and 4-side seal single-serve packs.
- Stick pack machines: narrow single-dose packs for supplements and drink mixes.
What we need to make your rollstock
Rollstock has to match your machine exactly, so a quote starts with the machine spec. Send what you have and we fill the gaps with you:
- Web width and print repeat (cut-off) length
- Core inside diameter and maximum roll diameter or weight
- Unwind direction and print orientation for your machine
- Film structure or the product it must protect (barrier, sealant, seal temperature)
- Eye mark position for registration
- Artwork and the number of designs
Film structures
Rollstock can be built from the same laminates as our pouches: foil and metallized high-barrier films, clear films, kraft paper laminations, and recyclable or compostable structures where the product allows. We match the sealant layer to your machine’s sealing jaws and speed.
Wholesale and bulk rollstock film
Rollstock is a bulk product by nature: it is bought by the roll for machines that pack thousands of units an hour. Wholesale rollstock is quoted by the impression or by the length or weight of film, and the price per pack falls sharply as volumes rise.
Big programs are welcome, including runs equal to 100,000 packs and more, with designs split across SKUs. Tell us your monthly usage and we quote the run sizes that fit it.
Questions about rollstock film
What is rollstock packaging?
Rollstock is printed packaging film supplied on a roll. A form-fill-seal or flow-wrap machine turns it into finished packs as it fills them, so you buy film instead of pre-made bags.
Is rollstock cheaper than pre-made pouches?
At high volumes, usually yes: film on a roll costs less per pack than finished bags, and machine filling is faster. At low volumes, pre-made pouches avoid the cost of a packing machine.
What machine specs do you need?
Web width, print repeat or cut-off length, core size, maximum roll diameter or weight, unwind direction and the eye mark position. If you use a co-packer, they can give us their machine spec directly.
Can you print multiple designs on rollstock?
Yes. Each design is quoted as its own run on the same film structure, which keeps the specification identical across SKUs.
Do you make recyclable rollstock?
We can build rollstock from recyclable or compostable structures where the product and machine allow. Tell us the product and your sealing setup so we can recommend a structure that runs well.
Can you supply rollstock and pre-made bags in the same artwork?
Yes. Brands often run rollstock for their high-volume SKUs and pre-made pouches for smaller ones, in matching artwork.
