What size mylar bag do I need?
Choose based on product weight and volume: for 1-2oz products use 3.5×5.5 inch bags, for 4-8oz use 5×8 inch, for 12-16oz use 6×9.5 inch, and for 24oz+ use 8×12 inch or larger. Cannabis typically uses 3×4.5 (eighth/3.5g) through 7×10 (ounce/28g). Contact us for custom sizing at no extra cost.
Can I get custom dimensions not listed?
Yes. Cubit manufactures mylar bags in any custom dimension at no additional cost. Simply specify your desired width, height, and gusset depth. Custom sizes are available from 500 units with the same turnaround as standard sizes.
What thickness should I choose?
For retail snacks and coffee: 3.5 mil. For cannabis and premium food: 4.5-5.0 mil. For long-term food storage (years): 5.0-7.0 mil. For sachets and samples: 2.5 mil. Thicker bags cost more but provide significantly better barrier protection and puncture resistance.
What is the most popular mylar bag size?
The most popular sizes are: 5×8 inches (medium retail — ideal for 4-6oz coffee and snacks), 6×9.5 inches (standard retail — fits 8-12oz products), and 3×4.5 inches (cannabis eighth/3.5g). For food preppers, 14×20 inch (5-gallon) bags are the standard.
How do I measure mylar bag dimensions?
Mylar bags are measured Width × Height (excluding zipper). For stand-up pouches, the gusset depth is listed separately. All measurements are outside dimensions. Fill capacity is approximately 80% of the total bag volume to allow proper sealing.
Do different sizes have different MOQs?
No. All standard and custom sizes share the same 500-unit MOQ for custom printed mylar bags. Blank (unprinted) bags may be available in smaller quantities. Die-cut custom shapes start at 1,000 units.
