Cubit Packaging publishes this guide.
A coffee roaster testing a new blend needs a few hundred bags. A snack brand entering regional grocery needs tens of thousands. The right supplier depends on that number first.
This guide compares ten suppliers of custom flexible packaging for food and beverage brands, including Cubit Packaging. They are listed alphabetically, not ranked.
How we compared
We read each company's own site in late October 2026 and checked every figure again on 1 November 2026. Every figure below is as published on their site. Where a page gave no figure, we wrote "not stated". We looked at six things:
- Minimum as stated. The smallest custom printed run the page names.
- Formats. Pouch and film types offered.
- Lead time as stated. Some count production only, others delivery.
- Where made as stated. Only what the page says.
- Pricing route. Instant pricing, calculator, price table or quote form.
- Who it suits. Based on the run sizes and services described.
We left out prices, which depend on size, film and print.

How to choose
Start with your run size per design. For a product test, look at short-run routes. ABC Packaging Direct and BS Flexpack state 500 for digital print, and Packhelp states 500 for its doypack. At 5,000 or more per design, plate or gravure routes are worth quoting too. For larger programs, see our guide to bulk packaging.
Compare timelines like for like. ABC Packaging Direct and noissue state figures that include transit. ePac and Cubit count from artwork or proof approval. BS Flexpack and CarePac give a turnaround without saying when it starts. Ask each supplier for an in-hands date at your address.
Match the format to your filling. Form-fill-seal lines need rollstock; hand or pouch-filler lines need premade pouches. Liquids need spouts. Fresh coffee needs a degassing valve.
Ask for food-contact paperwork. Get the material specification and food-contact documents for your product before you approve a proof.
Get several quantities on one quote. Unit cost usually drops as runs grow, and three or four run sizes side by side show the trade-off.
Check who handles duties. If a supplier ships from another country, ask whether the price includes duties and delivery to your door. DDP means it does.
When you are ready, request a quote with your quantity and up to three larger runs.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a typical minimum order for custom printed food pouches?
It depends on the print method. Among the suppliers here, stated digital minimums start at 500 pieces. Stated cylinder or gravure minimums run from 2,500 to 10,000. CarePac states 5,000 for custom pouches, and noissue's page shows both 1,000 and 5,000. Several suppliers do not state a number, so ask.
How long does custom flexible packaging take?
Stated figures range from 7 to 10 working days for a digital run to 11 to 12 weeks to delivery. Check whether a figure covers production only or includes shipping. At Cubit, production takes 7 to 12 business days after proof approval, and you choose the delivery speed on the quote.
What is the difference between digital and gravure printing for pouches?
Digital printing needs no plates or cylinders. It suits short runs and many designs. Gravure uses engraved cylinders. It suits long runs with stable artwork. BS Flexpack and ABC Packaging Direct publish separate minimums and lead times for digital and cylinder printing.
Should I order rollstock or premade pouches?
Order rollstock if you fill on a form-fill-seal machine. Order premade pouches if you fill by hand or on a pouch-filling machine. Most suppliers in this guide list rollstock; noissue, Packhelp and Pouch Makers do not on the pages we read.
What should I send to get an accurate quote?
Send the format, size, fill weight, product type and barrier needs. Add closures such as zippers, valves or spouts. Include print colors, finish, quantity per design, delivery address and in-hands date. Ask for more than one quantity.
